Elope New Jersey

What Is an Elopement?

Your questions answered, your options expanded, and your celebration elevated.

An elopement is simply a wedding that centers you. It can be just the two of you and a pair of witnesses, a handful of loved ones gathered in a favorite park, or a candlelit dinner with your closest circle. We keep the process calm, legal, and lovely so you can savor every moment.

Our ceremonies are personalized, inclusive, and deeply respectful of your beliefs. Want to read the poem you wrote each other in college? Include a blessing from Grandma? Have your dog Ralphie trot down the aisle with the rings? We’re here for all of it.

Your elopement questions, answered

Browse our most-loved questions below. If you don’t see yours, reach out—we love chatting about ideas big and small.

How long have you been doing this?

Celia has joyfully officiated weddings for more than seventeen years, and together with our associate officiants we have celebrated over 5,000 ceremonies across New Jersey.

How are you different from other officiants?

We respond quickly, craft ceremonies that sound like you, and keep the tone warm, appropriate, and delightfully light—never awkward or canned.

Are the ceremonies religious?

Most are secular, but we are honored to weave in prayers, cultural traditions, or blessings when invited to do so.

Do you take credit cards?

We currently accept cash, checks, Zelle, and creative barters for your unique talents.

What is a "quiet life" wedding?

It’s a relaxed, elegant celebration with a tight guest list that keeps the focus on connection instead of production.

Can we include our dog?

Absolutely—our team and vendor partners are pet-loving and can even suggest groomers or pet sitters to help your four-legged family member shine.

Can we write our own vows?

Yes. We can provide guidance, sample wording, or we can craft the entire script for you—whatever feels best.

How many guests can we have?

You’ll need at least two witnesses, and we can comfortably accommodate up to eight for elopements. If your guest list grows beyond that, we’ll help you transition into a micro wedding plan.

What happens after we reach out?

We set up a call, video chat, or text thread to gather your ideas, then match you with the officiant and vendors who fit your style and timeline.

Ready for the next step?

We’ll walk you through timelines, paperwork, and creative inspiration—and connect you with the officiant who feels like family.
